ASUS refurbished laptops
Refurbished computers are a perfectly good purchase, they are just made from a combination of parts from other laptops. Each part in the computer works as well as the day is was made, except that the consumer gets a discount for ignoring the notion it didn't come off the factory line in one standardized process.
ASUS laptops are no excepton. A factory refurbished laptop will come with all the goodies that one can expect from a new ASUS. Double-check the warranty situation; how long and where it is from, and see if the model you are interested in has any extra items that should be included.
More on ASUS laptops

The thing about ASUS is that they make decent laptops and netbooks, at a decent price. Few people know that ASUS manufactures the entire laptop and all the components, and actually supplies other manufacturers with computer componenets. Chances are that if you own a laptop or even a desktop now, that it has an ASUS component in it such as the motherboard or graphics card.
Some of their older models do lack a certain amount of excitement, with some looking a little more dated than they should. But, esthetics aside, for most people, functionality and performance is all that matters and an ASUS refurbished laptop is a great way to go. The 1005PE for example is a powerful little laptop with fantastic battery life, but lacks the features of other netbooks and laptops.
Having said this about their design and visual appeal, ASUS has some new models out that are at the very least generating some buzz and interest. Take the new Eee Netbook...or is it a laptop? With a screen just over 12" and HD and priced like laptops, dual core 1.6 Ghz and 2GB of RAM, HDMI, and a list of other great features, it is tough to understand how it hasn't been the latest entry into their laptop range.

ASUS' newest addition to their future lineup in the ASUS Keyboard, due to be laucnhed mid-2010, which is bascially a kayword with an onboard computer and a 5" touchscreen, weighing 2 pounds and comes with features you'd expect from any basic laptop, and all kinds of ports and inputs.
It can almost be assured that, just like any other laptop on the market, there will be a slew of refurbished models to choose from, and with a retail price of somewhere in the $400 - $500 range, then it should be a fun, cheap ASUS product.
